radio silence (monologue)

from afterglow (b-sides) by the smallest one

/

about

i had 'radio silence' as an instrumental originally, but wanted to experiment with it a bit, so i tried to record a monologue of a poem i wrote for class called 'overdose' to put over it. i ended up still liking the instrumental as an interlude more for the album, but still liked this one as its own thing.

lyrics

you said let’s stay up ‘til the birds start to sing i said do what you gotta do i’ll stick to the regular stuff do my best to keep up but you ran out jaw clicking teeth chattering & i watched you motionless in bed wishing you’d wake up, found your notebook hoped to find some piece of you i couldn’t when you were alive but the pages were all torn out & all that was left of you was a magic-marker tracing of a sunset on the window by your bed, now you’ll never have to watch another beautiful thing end.
